Madras High Court Clears Vijay's Jana Nayagan for U/A Release
The Madras High Court ordered the CBFC to certify Jana Nayagan with a U/A rating after setting aside the board's last-minute referral to a revising committee, despite the film already passing initial checks with over two dozen cuts for violence and sensitive content.
Directed by H. Vinoth and starring Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and others, the movie faced delays from a single committee member's complaints about religious sentiments and armed forces portrayal.
Industry figures like Silambarasan TR and Venkat Prabhu rallied behind Vijay, calling it his grand cinema farewell, while the CBFC has appealed with a hearing set for later today—no stay granted yet. A new release date, possibly January 14, awaits confirmation amid halted bookings.
